Blackbridge recognised with Building with Nature Award

The Blackbridge Community and Sports Hub has been given the Full Building with Nature Award, which recognises it’s compliance with
Building with Nature Standards Framework v2.0.

Mark Gale, Director of Blackbridge CCBS said: “We are all very excited that the Blackbridge Community and Sports Hub has just received its Building With Nature accreditation. As part of this assessment we have shown how we have protected the established local woodland and its wildlife around our site as well as sharing our plans to plant a hundred additional trees in the coming period.

The Sustainable Drainage system we are implementing will substantially improve the biodiversity of the site whilst our floodlights have been designed to ensure the minimum disturbance for local wildlife and our 25 solar panels help us reduce our carbon footprint. Every aspect of our development has been considered in its environmental context and this is why we are so please to receive the Building With Nature award.”

Building with Nature is a leading standard and certification scheme for high quality green infrastructure, with a clear, integrated framework for delivering nature-based solutions that improve social outcomes, strengthen climate resilience, and deliver long term value for developers, planners, and communities.

Eleni Polychroniadou, CEO of Sintali who manage the scheme said: “Blackbridge Community and Sports Hub, recognised with a Building with Nature Full Award, is a fantastic example of how green infrastructure can be thoughtfully integrated into community spaces to deliver lasting social and environmental value. By putting nature at the heart of the design, the project demonstrates how high-quality green spaces can bring people together, support biodiversity and create healthier, more welcoming places for everyone to enjoy.”
