Confidentiality, Safeguarding, and Data Protection

Confidentiality: Our organisation is committed to providing a safe environment for young people and volunteers. We recognise that trust is essential for good youth work and is the foundation for all relationships within our club. Maintaining confidences is an integral part of building trust between young people, volunteers, and the organisation and will be always respected, except where it conflicts with reporting child protection concerns.

Safeguarding: Your safety is our top priority. We have strict safeguarding policies in place to protect all members. If you ever feel unsafe or need to report any concerns, please speak to a staff member immediately. We are here to support you.

Data Protection: In addition to our commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding, we adhere to the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). This places an obligation on all organisations to implement the 8 guiding principles when obtaining, handling, and storing personal information. Your personal data will be collected, stored, and used responsibly. You have the right to access your data, request corrections, and ask for it to be deleted.

Reporting Concerns: If you have any concerns about your safety or the safety of others, please do not hesitate to report them. You can speak directly to a staff member or contact our designated safeguarding leads at youth@blackbridge.org.uk. All concerns will be taken seriously and handled with the utmost care and confidentiality.

Contact Us: If you have any questions or concerns about confidentiality, safeguarding, or data protection, please speak to a staff member.
