Our team

Jim Hart

Project Co-ordinator

I’m Jim and back in 2008 I first worked in Podsmead as a community sports worker. I also spent some time working in London for Fulham and Chelsea in community sports roles, returning to Gloucester in 2021. I joined Blackbridge CCBS in 2022, and my role is to manage projects, staff and volunteers, as well as developing skills and learning opportunities.

Debbie Walton

Business Team Administrator

After being made redundant in 2020, I decided it was a time for a change in career, to do something I could truly be passionate about. I’ve loved working in the Gloucester community, and I’m looking forward to continuing to serve and support the Podsmead area. I’m passionate about building up communities that residents can be proud to be a part of and empowering individuals to have a voice.

Youth Work Team

Debbie Etheridge

Head of Youth Provision

I’m Debbie AKA Debs. I have over 30 years of experience working with young people and being
a local resident myself, I recognise that our young people need places to go and things to do. Seeing young people learn
and grow through unique opportunities and experiences that they may not have otherwise had a chance to engage in at home or at school is what my role is all
about.

Kelly Jackson

Youth Team Worker

Hi I’m Kelly, AKA Kelz. I’ve been a resident of Podsmead since 2011. There has never been much for the youth around here, so when the opportunity came up for me to volunteer at the new and upcoming Youth provision in February 2023,  I jumped on board. I have 3 daughters and I am passionate about organising events for the youth and giving them a safe space, along with giving them a voice, helping them to understand values and beliefs and build confidence.

Kiara Palmer

Youth Voice and Participation Worker

Hey there! I’m Kiara, and my journey into youth work began at the ripe age of 16, volunteering at youth clubs. I’ve dabbled drama and crafts —because creativity rocks! – and I’ve organised various community events, with a special focus on supporting SEN families. Listening to young people and valuing their perspectives matters. A lot. So, let’s amplify those voices, celebrate their uniqueness, and build communities where everyone feels heard and valued.

Tyler Akam

Youth Support Worker

Hi, my name is Tyler. I am a part-time Youth Support Worker at Blackbridge CCBS, with a wealth of experience engaging with young people in schools. I love bringing creativity into my work, whether it’s through cooking, henna, or nail art. Still young at heart, I feel as though I can easily connect with the youth, understanding their world and challenges. I am dedicated to making a positive difference in Podsmead, helping young people thrive and reach their full potential.

Youth Support Worker

I’m passionate about helping young people grow in confidence, creativity, and well-being. With a background in creative writing and a love for fitness and mental health, I bring energy and empathy to every session.

Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, walking my dog Bailey, and exploring the outdoors with my family. I’m especially focused on building real connections with young people—listening to what matters to them and helping their voices be heard.

Christine Anderson

Volunteer Youth Support Worker

Hello! I’m Christine. After many years working in the catering industry I’m enjoying retirement and spending Thursdays doing something I truly love: volunteering with the Inclusion youth group. It’s a joy to help young people build their confidence in the kitchen, share a few laughs, and pass on the skills I’ve picked up over the years.

When I’m not volunteering, I enjoy skittles, jigsaws, and relaxing with my cat, Daisy. I love a good musical, a wander around a garden centre, and whenever I get the chance, a chill on the beach.

Rihannon Smith

Inclusion Youth Support Worker

Hi, I’m Rihannon, a local girl with a big heart for supporting young people. I help run our Inclusion group on Thursday evenings, bringing energy, empathy, and a listening ear. I’m naturally caring and always ready to offer support—working with young people is more than a job to me, it’s a calling.

I’m aiming for a future in residential childcare, and this role is a big part of that journey. Outside of work, I’m a fitness lover, travel enthusiast, and total foodie – though nothing beats a bowl of mash!

Faith Dance

Volunteer Inclusion Worker

Hi, I’m Faith. I’ve lived in Podsmead since 2012 and love being part of the community. You’ll often find me at the local social club playing skittles, bingo, or darts—or helping out at local events. I volunteer at the Inclusion Youth Group on Thursdays, supporting activities and encouraging young people to get involved. I’m caring, helpful, and always ready with a listening ear—and I’m pretty handy with IT too!

When I’m not volunteering, I enjoy long walks with my black Labrador, cycling when the weather’s good, and spending time with my family.
